Multiple Choice Quiz

 

Figure out the correct way to make a negative sentence in simple past.  Use the verb in ( ).

 

'BE' VERB
SUBJECT I you he - she - it we they
NEGATIVE was not were not was not were not
CONTRACTION wasn't weren't wasn't weren't

    

OTHER VERBS

SUBJECT I you he - she - it we they
NEGATIVE did not   +   base form of the verb:    do / go / make / eat / study / work / etc.
CONTRACTION didn't   +   base form of the verb:    do / go / make / eat / study / work / etc.

 

EXAMPLE:   Mary / here / yesterday / ('be' + not)   →   "Mary wasn't here yesterday."
