STUDENT SERVICES

Spring International Language Center provides the following services to help students adjust to the United States and gain the greatest possible benefit from their studies here:

AIRPORT PICKUP

At their request, students are met at the airport by their home stay family or a representative of Spring International.

ORIENTATION

On the first day of each term, new students participate in an orientation to the school, the surrounding area, and local transportation.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVISING

The International Student Adviser at each school assists students with questions about visas, I-20s, immigration status, transfers to other institutions, and other related matters.

OFFICIAL SPRING STUDENT I. D. CARD

Each student receives an official Spring Student I.D. Card, which entitles them to all free school services.  Some local movie theaters, stores, and businesses also offer discounts to students who present a valid school I. D.

LEARNING SUPPORT

Students can participate in a Study Hall or focused after-school or lunchtime workshops by referral from teachers or by their own choice. The teacher in charge of the session will give assistance with homework and by answering students' questions in any of the skill areas.

CONVERSATION PARTNERS

Conversation partners provide an opportunity for students to gain practice conversing with a native English speaker one-on-one or in a small group on a variety of topics under the direction of a Listening/Speaking or Conversation class instructor.  Our partners are community members and/or students from nearby colleges and universities.

ASSISTANCE WITH THE U. S. HEALTH CARE SYSTEM

Our International Student Advisers assist students with the U. S. health care system, explaining health insurance benefits and exclusions. They also assist students in finding doctors, specialists, and/or urgent care facilities, and act as go-betweens with the providers and our students.

ASSISTANCE WITH TRAFFIC LAWS, VIOLATIONS, AND THE U. S. COURT SYSTEM

Our International Student Advisers help students navigate our legal system by explaining the procedures for paying parking and speeding tickets and other minor violations.  They help students complete police reports for lost or stolen items. They also explain the requirements for driving legally in the state of Colorado, and warn of possible consequences for violation of laws.

COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY PLACEMENT

Spring International personnel help students with college and university application procedures, including how to find appropriate university programs, how to apply for various required tests (TOEFL, IELTS, GMAT, GRE).  As students progress through Spring's levels, they are also informed of our university partner agreements and what they must do to earn a TOEFL Waiver letter and recommendation to one of our many partner colleges and universities.

ON-CAMPUS PRESENTATIONS BY U. S. COLLEGE & UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES

Every term we have universities that visit to promote their programs. Some universities we have partner agreements with and others are simply interested in admitting International students. They know that students from Spring International are prepared for the university upon completion of our program.

GRADUATION & END-OF-TERM CELEBRATIONS

Each term concludes with a ceremony for level-six graduates and awarding of certificates to students who have perfect attendance and/or straight A grades.

OPTIONAL $ SERVICES       Spring also offers several optional services to our students who choose to participate and pay for them.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Every term, Spring International offers a variety of both free and paid trips and social activities for students, teachers, and staff.  Among the many fun activities are things like bowling, skiing and snowboarding, conversation tables with native speakers, museum visits, ice skating, movies, National Western Stock Show, professional football, soccer, hockey, basketball and baseball games, shopping trips, and many more.

HOMESTAYS WITH AMERICAN FAMILIES

The Housing Coordinator at each center helps interested students to match up with a host family to live with during their studies at Spring International.  Each host family is carefully screened to ensure that our students have a positive immersion in American home life.  The cost of a home stay for our Colorado schools is $800 per month.  This price includes housing and meals: breakfast and dinner are provided on weekdays, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekends.
