LibreOffice has a suite of programs, very

Writer (like MS Word), Impress (like MS

SET LIBREOFFICE TO ALWAYS
SAVE FILES IN MICROSOFT OFFICE FORMAT (so they
open on school computers):
The first
time you open LibreOffice Writer, tell the program
to always save all files in Microsoft Office
formats. How?
1.
Click the "Tools" menu, then click the "Options"
choice at the bottom.
2. Click the + sign next
to "Load/Save" to expand that menu.
3. Click
"General".
4. Choose "Document Type" -->
"Text Document", and on the right, choose
"Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP", then click
"OK".
5. Do the same for "Document Type"
--> Presentation, select PowerPoint 97/2000/XP,
and OK.
6. Do the same for "Document
Type" --> Spreadsheet, select Excel 97/2000/XP,
and OK.
You're done! Now, LibreOffice will save
your files as DOC and PPT and XLS, just like in
Microsoft Office. ALL FOR
